SUMMARY OF PURPOSE<br />

To carry out incremental steps toward more flexible<br />

existing LEADER System, in order to improve <strong>system</strong><br />

performance and data integrity, as well as facilitate<br />

efficient change management control and quality<br />

assurance.<br />

To automate the IFDS & PVS process for abstract<br />

assignment, prioritization, disposition, benefit<br />

calculation, scheduling appointments, & generating<br />

reports.<br />

To implement a new Equipment Inventory <strong>system</strong> to<br />

replace the current <strong>system</strong> that is obsolete and no<br />

longer supported by the manufacturer.<br />

To complete reprocurement activities for a LEADER<br />

<strong>replacement</strong> <strong>system</strong>.<br />

To replace equipment used in the existing LEADER<br />

System environment that has reached the<br />

manufacturer’s end-<strong>of</strong>-life designation and is fully<br />

depreciated.<br />

To purchase 50 laptops in order to replace outdated<br />

equipment.<br />

To purchase 2,000 printers to replace worn or broken<br />

LaserJet printers.<br />

To migrate the existing Lotus Notes Custom<br />

Applications to a standard technological platform that<br />

would provide a faster development cycle and reduce<br />

the cost <strong>of</strong> maintenance.<br />

To migrate to Micros<strong>of</strong>t Exchange in order to achieve<br />

a significant reduction in administrative overhead and<br />

hardware cost.<br />

To modify the existing LEADER System’s application<br />

in order to establish QMB as a program separate from<br />

Medi-Cal.<br />

To utilize and enhance the Q5i s<strong>of</strong>tware program for<br />

audit teams.<br />
