A. PROGRAM MODELS AND PRESCRIPTIVE PACKAGES<br />
Program Models are a synthesis of research and ,evaluation findings,<br />
operational experience, and expert opinion in a criminal justice<br />
topic area. Each report presents a series of programmatic options and<br />
analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of each. The intent is to<br />
provide criminal justice administrators with the capability to make<br />
informed choices in planning, implementing, and improving efforts in a<br />
program area. The Models may also serve as the basis of testing and<br />
demonstration efforts.<br />
A listing of Program Models is presented below in alphabetical<br />
order. For complete bibliographic citation and abstract, refer to the<br />
entry number in Part I of this supplement or to the earlier editions<br />
of ' Publications of the <strong>National</strong> Institute of Law Enforcement and <strong>Criminal</strong><br />
<strong>Justice</strong> as indicated. Following the list of Program Models is a<br />
list of Prescriptive Pac'll;:ages, a publication series of the <strong>National</strong><br />
