PRINCIPAL PRAISES HIS CADETS<br />
<strong>The</strong> guest of honour at the St<br />
Mary’s College Combined Cadet<br />
Force Awards Night was Sqn<br />
Ldr Andy Manktelow who was<br />
welcomed by the Principal Mr<br />
Michael Kennedy and Contingent<br />
Comd Lt Col Niall Rothnie. <strong>The</strong> Sqn<br />
<strong>The</strong> Sqn Ldr inspecting the<br />
Guard of Honour with the Principal<br />
Cpls Mwandumba and Nayagam receive their<br />
<strong>Cadets</strong> of the Year Awards from the Sqn Ldr<br />
Ldr has had many appointments<br />
around the world including the<br />
Iraq campaign. <strong>The</strong> evening was<br />
also supported by soldiers from<br />
the Regular Army and 4 PARA (v)<br />
to which their Army section is<br />
affiliated.<br />
To a packed audience<br />
of proud parents Col<br />
Rothnie gave a slide<br />
show on the success and<br />
activities over the last<br />
year and then the Army<br />
section, followed by the<br />
RAF section, gave their<br />
own presentations.<br />
<strong>The</strong>n there were<br />
presentations of Awards,<br />
Promotions and <strong>Cadets</strong><br />
of the Year Awards to<br />
Cpl Ruth Mwandumba<br />
(Army) and Cpl Robert<br />
Nayagam (RAF) who are<br />
both from Crosby.<br />
To conclude, the<br />
Principal praised<br />
the officers for their<br />
dedication and the<br />
cadets for their excellent<br />
results.<br />
As thank you,<br />
a presentation of cut<br />
glass crystal was made<br />
to Sqn Ldr Manktelow.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Sqn Ldr is welcomed by the Principal and Officers<br />
<strong>The</strong> Headmaster and CO’s from 156 Regt RLC and 4LANCS<br />
plus representatives from the 13 CCF Contingents<br />
DINNER TIME FOR CCF<br />
Sedbergh School hosted a Combined Cadet Force Contingent<br />
Commanders’ Dinner with 31 attending, from 13 of the North<br />
West Contingents. <strong>The</strong>y were welcomed by Headmaster Andrew<br />
Fleck and Lt Col Miles Ripley, their Contingent Comd.<br />
Special guests were Lt Col Dominic Morgan, Merseyside<br />
Garrison Commander and CO 156 (NW) Tpt Regt RLC (V) and Lt<br />
Col Andrew Kennedy, CO 4LANCS. <strong>The</strong>ir CCF Band, supported by<br />
Pipers, played lively music before a delicious dinner.<br />
