3.5 Weinig profile cutterhead 503 / 513
3.5.1 General
The Weinig profile cutterhead 503 / 513 is a heavy-duty
cutter. All the relevant safety regulations and the
instructions in this operating manual must be closely
followed in order to ensure safe use and handling of this
tool.
Please read these instructions through carefully before
using the tool.
3.5.2 Intended use
The profile cutterhead is only approved for mechanical
feed systems and is used for the following purposes:
Planing and profiling work on solid wood (hard and soft
wood) and wood substitutes.
Applications: see technical data.

3.5.3 Special safety instructions for tool 503 / 513
• Always use at least two clamping screws to tension
the clamping ledges and profiled cutters.
• When using slim profiled cutters, select clamping
ledges of a length corresponding with that of the
profiled cutters.
• Remove any unused clamping screws when using
shorter clamping ledges.
• Check that the profiled cutters are correctly seated in
the serration.
• Note the markings for the minimum cutter clamping
length at the tool ends.
• Ensure that parts are fitted correctly when changing
cutters.
• Insert all cutters in the serration in the same position
(distance from bottom of groove).
• Leitz DoubleBack system:
Max. blank height 60 mm for Z = 2
Max. blank height 70 mm for Z = 4
• When using slim profiled cutters, select clamping
ledges of a length corresponding with that of the
profiled cutters.
