SPECIAL HANDLING: Collect 2 lavender tubes; centrifuge and<br />

separate 1 tube only; submit with remaining<br />

whole blood tube. Do not collect within 24<br />

hours of administration of muscle relaxants<br />

cholinesterase assay, and may be at risk of apnea<br />

SPECIMEN REQUIRED: Refrigerated whole blood<br />

TUBE OR CONTIAINER: Lavender (EDTA)<br />

SPECIAL HANDLING: Refrigerate entire sample; do not separate.<br />

Stable in whole blood for at least 48 hours<br />

when refrigerated at 2 C to 8 C<br />

SPECIMEN VOLUME: 5 mL
