PIERCE MEMORIAL GARDENS PROGRESS
Progress continues at Pierce Memorial Gardens at the
Charles Chrin Community Center site. The hardscape
work of the walking path, fencing, retaining wall, circular
paver areas with sitting walls, and labyrinth is almost
complete. Landscaping work including the planting of
the perennials, ornamental grasses, and trees is scheduled
to be done this fall. A dedication ceremony is being
planned for Spring 2011 when the plants will be blossoming.
The majority of the construction work is being done by
the Palmer Township Public Works and Parks Departments
under the guidance of the designer, Jamie Collins,
RLA. All Palmer Township labor, equipment and
material costs are being reimbursed by the bequeathed
Pauline Pat (Peggy Lynn) Pierce Fund.
Palmer Township is looking for individuals and/or a
group such as a garden club to volunteer to maintain
the rose garden plants and planting beds. If interested,

INCOME TAX NEWS
In compliance with Act 32 passed by the PA Legislature,
Palmer Township has named Keystone
Collections Service as their collector of the local
Earned Income Tax. Final returns for 2010 will
be filed with the new agency; however, the site
in Northampton County is yet to be determined.
More information will be forthcoming with your
2010 tax return.
