Several years ago the <strong>Club</strong> had the opportunity to buy the repeater site<br />
f or $1 8 ,000. Jim Faughn, WD6ENK, loaned the <strong>Club</strong> the money at 5. 25%, to be<br />
paid back monthly ($119) over 20 years. With the recent death of Jim it is<br />
possible that we could have the opportunity of buying the discounted note<br />
for something around $11,000 (less than $40 per club member), thereby<br />
~ saving the <strong>Club</strong> about $4,000 in interest and about $5 , 000 i n princi pal , or<br />
a lmos t half the cost of the property.<br />

MEMBERSHIP IN THE PALOMAR AMATEUR RADIO CLUB is $12 per year with no<br />
initiation fee, and includes a subscription to SCOPE. Family members hips<br />
a r e $1 2 for the first, and $9.00 for each subsequent membe r at the same<br />
addr ess. Annual SCOPE subscriptions are $3.00. Membe rship matters, c hanges<br />
of address, subscription matters: P.O. Box 1603, Vista, CA 92083-0530.<br />
ADS & MATERIAL FOR SCOPE to P.O.Box 73, Vista, CA 92083-0030. Deadline is<br />
normally Monday of the week two weeks before the club meeting.<br />
CLUB MEETI NGS are held on the first Wednesday of the month a t 7 :30 p.m. in<br />
t he cafeteria at Lincoln Middle School between East Vista Way and Eucalypt<br />
us on Escondido Ave. in Vista. Visitors are welcome .<br />
OFFICIAL CLUB BADGES are available from John Tentor , W60LQ . Unfortunately,<br />
he does require money and also feels it only fit ting that you provi de<br />
him with your name and call sign if you want them on your very own badge<br />
( l ike the big guys have).<br />
THREE REPEATERS, all W6NWG/R, are owned and operated by the <strong>Club</strong>. One has<br />
an inpu t of 146 . 130 mHz and an output of 146.730 mHz. Input for a nother is<br />
444.425 mHz a nd output is 449.425 mHz. The third is a pac ke t r a d i o d i gipeater<br />
on 145 . 050 mHz. All are on the <strong>Club</strong>'s property on Mount Pa lomar a t<br />
abou t 5,600 'and are open repeaters for club members a nd t r a nsient u s e r s.<br />
