ANNUAL PICNIC TO BE HELD IN BRENGLE PARK <br />

This year's annual club picnic will be held in Breng l e Pa r k on Va le<br />

Terrace in Vista on Sunday, the 24th of August . More detail s l ater.<br />

Hod, W6UCN, was in town from Marshall, TX visiting relat ives . It was a<br />

rare treat to see him at the April club meeting. Hod was the owner o f our<br />

present repeater site when we built the building on i t .<br />

Bill Driml, W6NAT, past president, long-time north coun t y resident, and<br />

now a fugitive in Ft. Dick, (CA that is) says that his act i vitie s there<br />

kept him from the 50th Anniversary celebration. He sends c ongratulat i ons<br />

to all; and says he talks to WA6KZN, W6FAY, and W6HAW on 75M.<br />

A note from Carl, WD6B, and Leona, WA60HB, tel ls o f t hei r attempt t o use<br />

an abandoned NASA rhombic at Guaymas, which was thwarted, by a f ault y bal un<br />

a t the masthead. They had Malaga hauled out at Guaymas and h ad years of<br />

accumulation scraped from her hull. They also held VE tes t s e s sions t her e .<br />

Our April meeting was like old home week with both Hod, W6UCN, a nd Ed<br />

Holm, K6II, on hand. A real treat! Good to have Ed b a c k a s a member t ool<br />

her Novice exam and is awaiting her license.<br />
