The FCC has announced a nationwide enforcement program to stop the use<br />

and sale of illegal CB amplifiers. The San Diego office, alone, has issued<br />

$6,375 in fines to CB operators and marketers as a part of the program. ~<br />

Users and marketers of amplifiers have been identified via complaints from<br />

persons suffering RFI and by reports by REACT members. $62,000 in fines<br />

_as been levied nationally in this on-going year-long enforcement effort.<br />
