The Board<br />
The Board is responsible for the overall<br />
corporate governance of the organisation.<br />
It sets Stadium <strong>Queensland</strong>’s strategic<br />
direction within the parameters set down by<br />
legislation applicable to the organisation and<br />
determines the policies and practices that<br />
govern its day-to-day operations.<br />
DIRECTORS<br />
Wayne Christopher MYERS<br />
(Chairperson)<br />
Wayne Myers has worked in the IT&T industry for over 30<br />
years. He has held senior management positions in large<br />
national and multinational companies such as NEC Australia<br />
Pty Ltd, AT&T Australia Ltd, Lucent Technologies Australia Pty<br />
Ltd and AAPT Ltd.<br />
Wayne was previously a Trustee of the Lang Park Trust and<br />
Chairman of the <strong>Queensland</strong> Government’s Communication and<br />
Information Advisory Board.<br />
Wayne is also a Director of Ergon Energy Corporation Ltd and<br />
John Paul College Ltd. He has been Chairperson since 2003.<br />
Geoffrey Donald TRIVETT<br />
Geoff Trivett is Managing Director of G D Trivett & Associates<br />
Pty Ltd, a leading <strong>Queensland</strong> valuation and property<br />
consultancy company which he commenced some 30 years<br />
ago. Prior to starting his own business, Geoff was the<br />
Managing Director of the <strong>Queensland</strong> office of the Baillieu<br />
Group, now Knight Frank. Geoff continues to have a keen<br />
interest in cricket, golf and football and was presented with the<br />
Australian Sports Medal for his contribution to cricket.<br />
Michael HARVEY<br />
Michael Harvey has an extensive legal career with over 34 years<br />
of experience in <strong>Queensland</strong>. Michael is currently Partner/<br />
Principal of law firm Elliott and Harvey with offices in Upper<br />
Mount Gravatt, Brisbane.<br />
Michael has served on the Board of Directors of Credicorp<br />
Finance Pty Ltd and was a founding Board member and<br />
trustee of the Credit Union Australia Members Benefit Friendly<br />
Society (Credicare).<br />
Michael has an extensive involvement with sport, serving as<br />
President of the Mount Gravatt Sporting and Workers Club and<br />
his firm has acted as legal advisor to the Sunnybank Rugby<br />
Union Club, and advisor to the Capalaba Sports Club and the<br />
Clayfield Bowls Club. Michael was an active Rugby Union player<br />
with Wests Bulldogs prior to commencing his legal career.<br />
Susie O’NEILL OAM<br />
Susie O’Neill is regarded as one of Australia’s greatest ever<br />
swimmers. Susie won medals at three successive Olympic<br />
games, with 8 medals in total including 2 gold medals. Her<br />
gold medals came in the 200 m butterfly at the 1996 Atlanta<br />
Olympics and the 200 m freestyle in Sydney in 2000.<br />
Susie achieved consistent success at all other major<br />
championship events, where she won 15 Commonwealth<br />
Games medals, 4 World Championship medals and 4 Pan<br />
Pacific Championship medals. Just as successful in her home<br />
country, Susie was a dominant figure at national titles, her total<br />
of 35 making her the most prolific title winner in the history of<br />
the Australian National Swim Titles.<br />
Susie is the mother of two children and balances this with<br />
sponsor, charity and media commitments.<br />
Peter JOHANSEN<br />
Peter Johansen has extensive experience in the aviation<br />
industry, serving as a senior corporate manager with Qantas<br />
Airways Limited in a career spanning more than 30 years. In<br />
that time Peter was involved with a number of key initiatives,<br />
including the implementation of the Qantas on-line corporate<br />
booking service and the development of the Qantas Travel<br />
Show in <strong>Queensland</strong>. Currently, he is a Senior Relationship<br />
Manager with investment services group Tynan Mackenzie.<br />
Peter is an active community member, serving as Chairman of the<br />
St Paul’s Anglican School Foundation Board from 1994 to 1998<br />
where he implemented the International School. He is currently a<br />
member of the Mater Foundation Major Gifts Committee.<br />
