Brisbane Entertainment Centre (BEC) Highlights • High profile events including Billy Joel, P!nk and Simon and Garfunkel sold out multiple performances. Other International artists including Neil Young, Kings of Leon, Leonard Cohen, Stevie Wonder and John Mellencamp performed to big crowds; • Australian events contributed to another successful year with performances by The Veronicas, So You Think You Can Dance Live, El Caballo Blanco, Monster Trucks and the Creative Generation State Schools on Stage 2009; • The Anthony Mundine World Title Fight in May 2009 attracted broad media coverage for the Centre and for Brisbane to a national and international audience; and • A number of capital works projects were completed including the refurbishment of the back of house dressing rooms and an upgrade to the performers’ Green Room.
