The view from the track
Remember the first time you became
a Porsche owner? The thrill. The
excitement. I took this photo as I drove
onto the Auto Club (formerly California)
Speedway in Fontana for the very first
time in my Porsche. What a thrill that
was. As our lives get busy with life we
sometimes forget how much fun it is to
own and drive one of the world’s finest
sports cars. We get too busy with work,
chores, schools, family obligations, etc. to
take a “Sunday drive.”
Perhaps, your Porsche is not as new
as it used to be. A new Porsche may not
be possible right now―at least not for a
while. So now is the time to make your
current Porsche new again. Today this
is more important than ever considering
the current economic situation. Our
Pandemonium is filled with advertisers
who provide services and products for
your car. You might prefer a dealer over
an independent shop or the other way
around. Perhaps you choose your service
shop by taking the recommendation from
another member or by the size of their
ad.
As President of the OCR I use
myself as the guinea pig and get my car
serviced at different places making my
own opinion, which I pass along to those
that ask for it. What ever method you
use, remember to look at our advertisers
and sponsors first. Also take advantage
of our technical sessions throughout the
year, which as you can see, is almost
over.
