The certificate of the time stamp server must be a trusted root certificate. 5.6 Certificates All Certificates This chapter assumes the standard signature handler is used as described in the chapter Digital Signatures. In order to sign a PDF document, a valid, existing certificate name must be provided. There are various ways to create or obtain a certificate. How this is done is not described in this document. This document describes the requirements for, and how to use the certificate. On the Windows operating system certificates can be listed by the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), which is provided by Windows. In order to see the certificates available on the system, do the following steps: To launch the MMC, go to Start -> Run… -> type “mmc”, or start a Command Prompt and type “mmc”.
