The mj-nut.es of the 1985 Winter rneeting were approvecl. MEMBERSHIP COII,IMITTEE REPORT Cirairman Mike Truffer reported receiving tnree new applications for membership. AII applicants were voted on and accepted. The three netr members include Irvin Industries, Inc. Precision Aerodynamics, Inc. PauI Gath -- Wyorning County PC Associate t'{embershii"r Associate Mernbership Individual Meinbersirip A subcormittee consisting of Dan Poynter, Tony Frost, Dorr Beck, and llichael Ray was appointed to help rewrite USPA Pa:rt 20. The Membership Comrnittee suggested that the PIA SOP be amrnendecl to reroute new tnember appJ-icat.ions bo the Comrnit'L.ee chairman, who vrould in turn forward the applicantrs clieck to ilhe treasurer, and a copy of the application to the Secretary. PRESIDENT'S REPORT President Dan Poynter appointed Sandy Reid as Chairman of the 1 986-87 Nominat.ions & Elections Committee. Sandy wilI be assisted by cornmitl-ee lnernbers Harry Sciroelpple and Dave DeWoIf . The president requested that the Corunittee meet today to start working on a slate oi candidates to be completed by the first of December for Lhe election to be held in Jarruary. It was also suggested that. the Chairperson of the Rigging Committee be elected during the summer meeting to allow sufficient time to prepare for the annual Riggersl Conference helcl at. the National. Skydiving Ciranpionmships held in JuIy. The presldent. has been engaged in doing some promoLion for the sport.. Being in the i.lational- Directory for TaIk Sltow Hosts has presented opportunity to get on the radio to talk up sport parachuting. In acldil-ion to good ratlio tirne, the grresident has been involvecl with Bob Beuer in doing a segmen't for "Eye on L.A." The lrlinter Meeting is tenal-ively scLreduled to be about January 15-161 will be a two day rneeting, and will probably be held in the !'lashington D.C. area in conjunctj-on witli the USPA meeting. Irinal clecision on the date arrtl place of the meeting will be made by the USPA Board of Direc- Lors at their October session. SECRETAR.Y ' S R.EPORT Secretary George Galloway reported tirat new name tag engraving plates have been manufactured and the secretary encourages members to display and use the name tags which were issued at. initiation of membership. Those members who stil-I use PEfA tags, and lnernbers who display tags with member comparry narnes but without the individual t s names, were encouraged to requ-est updated narne tags from the secretary. New PIA letlerhead and envelopes have been printed in two styles. One style includes the return address of tlre PIA at 1440 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA. The other style has no return adrJress, in the event that the writer wailts to include his or her specific address. Contact the secretary for either or both styles. There -r-s no charge to appropriate members. Tire secreiary' s of f ice concurs with the Meinbership ConunitLee I s reguest for a FIA SOF change to restructure the routing of new mernber applications directly to the chairman of b.he i,lembership Committee, who would j-n turrr forward the aptr>licant's check to the treasurer, with a copy of the application going to the secretary for file. The secreLary also requested that srxlrnar-y Cornmittee Reports be subrnit.ted in writing for inclusion in the minutes. Tlre secretary requested reiinbursernent for expenses of $152.17 upon i)resentation of receipts. I"iotion was niacle, seconded, and approved to acr:ept the secretarvts report.
