in 1924. This was<br />

"Everybody's Theatre" and its<br />

publication led to some entirely<br />

un<strong>for</strong>seen results. It led, and<br />

still leads, to a huge postbag,<br />

bringing to me letters from all<br />

over Britian, from every<br />

European country, and from<br />

the far distant parts of the<br />

world. It led to many<br />

broadcats, to film studios and<br />

to television. but most<br />

important of all these results<br />

was the foundation of the<br />

British Puppet and Model<br />

Theatre Guild in 1925, whose<br />

earliest members were all<br />

readers of the book. Later,<br />

"Everybody'S theatre" was<br />

followed by the "Bankside<br />

Stage Book." The rest of the<br />

series came as the art of<br />

puppetry became more and<br />

more popular through the work<br />

of the Guild. A famous puppet<br />

master has described the<br />

series as "The Classics of<br />

English Puppet Literature" <strong>for</strong><br />

English<br />
