hysterically, tries to wipe herself with it, letting out cries<br />
of utter disgust.<br />
She is sobbing. And in contrast to this frenzied, uncontrolled<br />
behaviour, there FADES UP the sad beauty of the Rachmaninov<br />
piano duet, the music she heard a long time ago on her father’s<br />
boat. She shouts -<br />
FLORENCE<br />
Don’t look at me! Please don’t look at<br />
me! Stop looking at me!<br />
Her efforts with the pillow are hopeless. With a cry of<br />
frustration she hurls it down.<br />
She leaps from the bed, snatches up her shoes, runs through the<br />
sitting room, past their abandoned meal, and out the door,<br />
slamming it behind her.<br />
