We are exceedingly grateful for the many expressions of sympathy in words, and deeds, and gifts, by<br />

so many friends during our recent bereavement. We thank you, one and all, for the consolation. Mr.<br />

and Mrs. Nelson Short and daughters Dorothy and LeAnna.<br />

Dear are the memories that never fade of one we knew so well; Sincere and kind in heart and mind,<br />

What a wonderful memory she left behind. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Short Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Short and<br />

LeAnna.<br />

Henry Gearig<br />

Henry Gearig was born December 5,1879 to Daniel and Catherine Gearig in <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong>,<br />

<strong>Ohio</strong>, where he also grew up to manhood. On November 25, 1902 he was I united in marriage with<br />

Cora Lauber. They made their home in the near neighborhood until 1914 when they purchased the<br />

Sowers' farm and came to live on Lauber Hill. They were blessed with six children: three sons, Earl<br />

and Willard of Archbold, <strong>Ohio</strong>, and Ivan of Wauseon, <strong>Ohio</strong>; three daughters,<br />

Irene (Mrs. Ervin Rupp) Archbold, Helen (Mrs. Eldon Yackee) Wauseon and Mildred (Mrs. Herbert<br />

Stevens) at home. He, with his wife, chose to take the cross of Christ upon them and d were united<br />

with the church in 1916, and in 1924 he was called by the voice of the church to serve as Deacon, in<br />

which calling he proved a faithful servant. He became seriously afflicted in health on May 15th and<br />

declined until on Friday, June 23rd, when he was called to his reward at the age of 64 years, 6<br />

months, and 18 days. He was a dutiful husband and father and will be sadly missed<br />

by his family and the church.<br />

There remain to mourn him: his wife, Cora, and all the forementioned children; also eleven grand<br />

children and one sister, Mrs. Simon Lauber, and many other relatives and friends.
