George Rieth, age 94 last September, passed away Sunday in the home of his niece, Mrs. Elmer
Lantz in Toledo. Mr. Rieth lived in Pettisville for many years up until a year ago when due to his age
he went to live with his niece in Toledo. Funeral service will be held in the local Missionary church on
Wednesday afternoon. Burial in Pettisville cemetery.
David Merillat
David Merillat, aged 74 years, 5 months, and 28 days, died at Toledo, 0., Monday evening at nine
o'clock, following an illness of six weeks. He was born in German township on October 7, 1868,
to David and Mary Merillat. A farmer by occupation, he had lived on his farm near Tedrow many
years. In 1902, he chose as a helpmate, Emma McCullom. To them were born 14 children. One son
and one grand-son *preceeding him in death. He, with his wife, accepted the Lord as their Savior and
united with the Reformed Mennonite Church in 1914. He was a dutiful and loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Emma, five sons, Walter of Toledo, Vernon of Delta, Francis of Wauseon,
