brothers four sisters and many other relatives and friends.<br />

Funeral services held at the home Bro. Henry Wyse and at the Central Mennonite church by Bro. P. L.<br />

Frey and Bro. E. B. Frey. Burial in Pettisville cemetery.<br />

A loving mother so gentle and kind,<br />

What a wonderful memory she left behind.<br />

Long days, long nights she bore in patience.<br />

Till God Himself, who knew what was best,<br />

Took her home to give her rest.<br />

Ida Beck<br />

Ida, daughter of the late Chris. and Mary Beck was born in <strong>Fulton</strong> county, near Pettisville, <strong>Ohio</strong>, July<br />

15, 1880. Late in the evening of October 14, 1943, she was struck by a motorcycle 1 ½ miles south of<br />

Archbold, 0., and thereby met with instant death, aged 63 yrs., 2 mos., 30 days. She lived with her<br />

parents on the farm until 1930 when she with her father moved to Pettisville, 0. About 7 years later her<br />

father died after which a niece, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Murphy and their family lived with her until the<br />

time of her death. Her sudden passing has come as a severe shock to her relatives as well as the<br />

entire community. In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour and<br />

was by baptism received into the Mennonite church and often spoke of the need of being fully<br />

prepared to meet the Lord before the last moments come.<br />

Being without family responsibility of her own she was very a helpful among her relatives and in<br />

the neighborhood. She is survived by two brothers, Peter of Pettisville; Samuel of Leo, Ind., three<br />

sisters, Mrs. Chris. Miller and Mrs. Harmon Short of Archbold and Mrs. Wm. Lantz of Pettisville and<br />

many other relatives and friends. Her parents and one sister, Barbara Burkholder, and two infant
