Benjamin Eicher, son of Joseph and Catherine Eicher was born in Henry County, Ohio, January 10,
1872, where he grew to manhood, and on November 23, 1899, was united in marriage with Louisa
Rice. They lived many years on the old homestead in Henry County, later moving to near Fayette,
Ohio. Six years ago they sold their farm and retired to their present home in Burlington. They shared
life's joys and sorrows for nearly forty-two years and were blest with a family of seven children, who all
survive him. He was a kind, loving husband and father and enjoyed the respect and friendship of a
large acquaintance. On Sunday, September 14, while returning home from a visit with friends, he was
overtaken in an accident, and was taken to Memorial Hospital where he expired shortly after. He had
attained the age of 69 years, 8 months, and 4 days. His passing has brought great sorrow to: his wife,
Louisa, who is in serious condition at Memorial Hospital; his children: Mrs. Harold Brehm of Delta,
Ohio; Charles of Fayette, Ohio; Mrs. Floyd Crosgrove of Elmira, Ohio; Orvall of Swanton, Ohio;
Mrs.Walter Croninger of Defiance, 0.; Maynard of Fayette, and Viola of Wauseon, Ohio; 14
grandchildren and many friends and relatives.
