1944’te ‹skeçe’de do¤du. Sinemaya kurgucu olarak<br />
girdi, daha sonra asistanl›k yapt›. 1974’te yar›m<br />
kalan Endifle adl› filmi tamamlayarak yönetmenli¤e<br />
bafllad›. On y›lda otuzu aflk›n film yapt›.<br />

Born in 1944 in<br />
‹skeçe. He started his film career as an editor, continued<br />
as assistant director. He realised his first film<br />
Anxiety in 1974. He directed more than thirty films in<br />
a decade.<br />
Özet / Synopsis<br />
Film, Almanya’daki göçmen Türk iflçilerle ilgilidir. Berlin’de<br />
yaflayan ve çal›flan Güldane, iznini geçirmek<br />
üzere köyüne gelir ve orada Mahmut’la karfl›lafl›r. Almanya’ya<br />
gitme hayaliyle yaflayan Mahmut Güldane’ye<br />
formalite evlilik teklif eder ve evlenirler. Almanya’ya<br />
vard›klar›nda Güldane Mahmut’u terk eder ve<br />
ifline döner. Fakat Mahmut bir süre sonra polis taraf›ndan<br />
yakalanarak Güldane’ye teslim edilir. ‹ster istemez birlikte yaflamaya bafllarlar ve<br />
formalite evlilik gerçe¤e dönüflür. Hamile kalan Güldane, hem iflçi olarak sömürüyü<br />
hem de kad›n olarak ezilmiflli¤i deneyimlemeye bafllar ve isyan eder.<br />
This film is related to the migrant Turkish workers in Germany. Güldane who is living<br />
and working in Berlin as an immigrant worker, comes to her village to vacation and<br />
meets with Mahmut there. Mahmut who is living in Germany dreams, proposes arranged<br />
marriage to Güldane and she accepts. When they arrive to Germany, Güldane leaves<br />
Mahmut and gets down to her routine work after the holiday. However Mahmut<br />
is picked up by police and sent to his wife. Inevitably Güldane and Mahmut begin living<br />
together and then arranged marriage between them becomes real. Güldane who<br />
is pregnant begins experiencing exploitation as a worker and oppression as a woman<br />
and riots.<br />
