Inhalational anaesthetics • No data to suggest that waste anaesthetic gases are a danger to those women working in a scavenged environment who are contemplating pregnancy or who are already pregnant • Scavenging of waste anaesthetic gases should be performed in whatever location an inhaled anaestetic is used Dr. Marc Coppens • NSAID’s: avoid in 3th trimester: premature closure of ductus • Aspirine/NSAID’s: gastroschisis, mild cardiac defects, orofacial defects • BZD: oral cleft • Paracetamol is safe • NMB drugs: high molecular weight, do not reach fetal circulation Dr. Marc Coppens 26
