TGMS – Design & Integration Safety Goals
A TGMS and its security is configured depending upon owners needs and
requirements. A TGMS network – (in coordination with the Owners IT group) may
be configured with:
• VLAN/s (Virtual Local Area Networks) – broadcast domains defined within
and between switches, used to allow control of broadcast, multicast and
unicast data.
• VLANs are assigned numbers for identification within and between
switches.
• VLAN structure and how many are VLANs are assigned depend upon each
system and area switch port counts.
• The primary server could include a “Kiwi Syslog Server” – to issue an alert if
any interface changes state, such as - a device goes offline, or if any uplink
port fails.
