<strong>Solvay</strong> Indupa (Mercosur)<br />
is among the companies, NGOs<br />
and individuals supporting the<br />
Instituto Trata Brasil,<br />
which is seeking to coordinate<br />
a national mobilization around<br />
programs to improve the health<br />
of the population, preserve the<br />
environment and create jobs.<br />
The “Essentiality of<br />
Chemicals” program continued<br />
in 2007 with seminars explaining<br />
the various <strong>Solvay</strong> professions.<br />
<strong>Solvay</strong> in France<br />
awarded prizes to<br />
students in a competition on the<br />
environment and innovation. Prizes<br />
were awarded to three projects<br />
from among those presented by<br />
45 students.<br />
In 2007, in the United States,<br />
<strong>Solvay</strong> Pharmaceuticals<br />
offered 100 two-year<br />
scholarships to students<br />
suffering from cystic fibrosis.<br />
<strong>Solvay</strong> Pharmaceuticals is also<br />
continuing its support for the<br />
Patient Assistance Program (PAP)<br />
set up in the USA in 1993<br />
to distribute medicines to lowincome<br />
patients.<br />
