Clay Ovens<br />
Baking & Building<br />
Discover the taste <strong>of</strong> buns freshly baked from a clay<br />
oven, but first learn how this unique oven is built at<br />
Trembowla. A guide at Trembowla will show you the<br />
steps required to build a clay oven and you will be<br />
able to create your own miniature version <strong>of</strong> the real<br />
thing. See how the oven is fired and then try buns<br />
baked in the oven for yourself. This tasty treat will<br />
be accompanied by assorted homemade baking, tea<br />
and c<strong>of</strong>fee.<br />

Baba’s<br />
Bread &<br />
Borscht<br />
Following a tour <strong>of</strong> this breathtaking histori<strong>ca</strong>l site,<br />
guides at Trembowla will teach you how traditional<br />
Ukrainian borscht is made from beginning to end.<br />
You will also be shown the process <strong>of</strong> baking<br />
bread in a clay oven, from the firing <strong>of</strong> the oven to<br />
removing the freshly baked loaves. Afterwards,<br />
guests will gather to enjoy a delicious Ukrainian<br />
lunch <strong>of</strong> borscht and clay oven-baked buns. As<br />
a souvenir <strong>of</strong> your visit you will be invited to take<br />
home the loaves <strong>of</strong> bread that you have baked, to<br />
be enjoyed later.<br />

Thatching at<br />
Trembowla<br />
Thatching is characteristic <strong>of</strong> the first homes<br />
built by Ukrainian settlers to Canada, in fact, a<br />
thatched ro<strong>of</strong> <strong>ca</strong>n be seen on the pioneer home at<br />
Trembowla. A guide will take you through the steps<br />
<strong>of</strong> creating your own sheaves and you will be able<br />
to secure them to a miniature A-frame ro<strong>of</strong>. You<br />
<strong>ca</strong>n even take home your own miniature sheaf as<br />
a souvenir. After your lesson relax on Trembowla’s<br />
beautiful grounds where you will be served tea,<br />
c<strong>of</strong>fee and fresh baking.<br />
