5 - Musical Work Notification (“MWN”) Transaction<br />

This transaction is used to convey in<strong>format</strong>ion about a musical work and interested parties<br />
whose royalties are reported in this file, and the works’ exploitations and resulting royalties.<br />

Identifying Detail Records: The Reference Identifier<br />
The ICC, ADJ and RRP records following, which provide in<strong>format</strong>ion about payments and<br />
exploitations, contain a reference identifier. This 15-byte field is a unique identifier assigned<br />
to an individual detail record by the submitting society.<br />
The identifier may be of any construction and is solely determined by the submitting society.<br />
For instance in may contain a prefix identifying the distribution and/or recipient, followed by a<br />
sequentially allocated number.<br />
