RRP Field Level Validation<br />

1. Record type. Use “RRP”.<br />

2. Return reason code. Must be a code defined in the “Returned Royalty Reason” table in<br />

the Appendix of this document.<br />

3. Received royalty source. Must be a valid type of right category code as documented<br />

for the SDN record.<br />

4. Original reference identifier. Reference identifier of the recipient’s (OS) original detail<br />

record that reported the share to the submitter in a prior distribution. This may be absent<br />

only if the original detail record contained no reference identifier – that is, pre-dated the<br />

recipient’s (OS) implementation of CRD.<br />

5. Original distribution identifier. Must be the value used to identify the recipient’s (OS)<br />

prior distribution to the submitter.<br />

6. Original adjustment indicator. Must be “Y” (yes) or “N” (no).<br />

7. Original amount. Must be numeric with SDN-11 amount decimal places.<br />

8. Original amount sign. If the original amount is present (not zero), must be “+” (positive)<br />

or “-” (negative).<br />

9. Return amount. Must be numeric, not zero, and with SDN-11 amount decimal places.<br />

10. Return amount sign. Must be “+” (positive) or “-” (negative).<br />

11. Original society work identifier. Must equal to the value originally reported by the<br />

recipient (OS).<br />

12. Original work title. Must be identical to the title originally reported for payment by the<br />

recipient (OS).<br />

13. Original society AV work identifier: Must be present if the payment in error originated<br />

from the exploitation of an audiovisual program, and must be the same value originally<br />

reported to the submitter (OR) by the recipient (OS).<br />

14. Original AV work title. Must be present if RRP-16 original society AV work identifier is<br />

present, and must be identical to the title originally reported by the recipient (OS).<br />

Original interested party and share in<strong>format</strong>ion are provided only when the returned royalty is<br />

for a share in a work, rather than for the entire royalty payment for the work. That is, the<br />

submitter (OR) has retained part of the royalty and is returning only the incorrectly paid part.<br />

15. Original interested party number. Must be the value used to identify the interested<br />

party in the recipient’s (OS) prior distribution to the submitter (OR) for which this returned<br />

payment is to be made.<br />

16. Original IP name. Name reported to the submitter (OR). Mandatory if the recipient (OS)<br />

provided the original payment in error to the submitter (OR).<br />

17. Original IP first name. First name reported to the submitter (OR).<br />

18. Original share numerator. Numerator of the fraction of the share reported. Must be<br />

present if RRP-21 original share denominator is present, and must be absent if RRP-22<br />

original share percentage is present.<br />

19. Original share denominator: Denominator of the fraction of the share reported. Must<br />

be present if RRP-20 original share numerator is present, and must be absent if RRP-22<br />

original share percent is present.<br />
