Specifications: Common Royalty Distribution: EDI format specifications Version 2.0, Revision 4 5.2 - OIP: Other Interested Party Detail Record This record is used to convey information about interested parties to a musical work that was exploited in this distribution, but where IP-NAME-NUMBERS and roles are not known or not applicable, and where the OIP information may assist the recipient in the identification of the work. Note: Unlike all other MWN detail records which are specific to their Work Distribution Statuses (MDS), the OIP occurs at the work level and its data applies to all MDS. It is not valid to submit a work with only Other Interested Party OIP record(s) to identify interested parties. If an Interested Party Information IPI record cannot be provided, the work and its earnings must not be included in the file but should more properly be listed in the submitter’s Unidentified Performances (UP) file. OIP Field Level Validation 1. Record type. Use “OIP”. 2. Other IP name. Must contain the name of the interested party. Format should be either a company name or - for a person – their surname. 3. Other IP first name. Must contain the first name of the interested party (Natural persons only). 4. Other IP description. Must be present and contain information supporting the inclusion of the OIP data; for example “Conductor”, “Solo Pianist”, “Record Label”. Rule CRD09-1005R4 36/80
Specifications: Common Royalty Distribution: EDI format specifications Version 2.0, Revision 4 5.3 - MDS: Musical Work Distribution Status Detail Record This record is used to group the different distribution statuses for a work. A work distribution status is a unique combination within a musical work of type of share structure, payment rule indicator, and start- and end-dates, and is used to group together the rights and territories for which the shares in the work, and their exploitations, are reported. At least one MDS must be present in the MWN transaction. 2. The MDS may be followed only by an MDR detail record. MDS Field Level Validation 1. Record type. Use “MDS”. 2. MDS Identifier. The first MDS within a work (i.e. in an MWN transaction) is set to 1, and the value is incremented for each subsequent MDS within the same work. 3. Type of Share structure. Must be 0 (zero) for “unknown”, 1 when all the sharers are individually identified, or 2 when not all sharers are individually identified. Examples of valid use of the “2” value would be when a generic “unknown” sharer is reported, and for CRD files sent to publishers which report only the publishers’ represented interests.
