support the calculation of earnings per sharer per exploitation in works having a noncopyright<br />
element (TR).<br />
In the event that the remitting society cannot identify of one or more sharers, the total<br />
shares in the work can be raised to 100% by attributing the remaining shares to the<br />
“unknown” sharer Interested Party identifiers – one of<br />

MIP Field Level Validation<br />
1. Record type. Use “MIP”.<br />
2. Interested party number. Must have been reported as IPI-4 interested party number in a<br />
preceding IPI Interested Party In<strong>format</strong>ion record in this file.<br />
3. IP Society. Must be a valid society code in the IPI.<br />
4. IP role. Must be a value defined in “Works IP Role” table of the CISAC document “AV<br />
Index and AVR Lookup Tables ISAVI-0059R4”.<br />
5. Share numerator. May be present only if share percentage is zero or not present.<br />
6. Share numerator. Must be present if share denominator is present.<br />
7. Share numerator. If present, cannot exceed share denominator.<br />
8. Share denominator. May be present only if share percentage is zero or not present.<br />
9. Share denominator. May be present only if share enumerator is present.<br />
10. Share percentage. May be present only if both share enumerator and share<br />
denominator are zero or not present. If present, must have SDN-12 percentage decimal<br />
places.<br />
11. National administrator number. If present, must have been reported as interested<br />
party number IPI-4 in a preceding IPI record in this file, and cannot be the identifier of a<br />
creator (writer, composer, etc).<br />
12. Contract indicator. A creator (or multiple creators) may have a representation contract<br />
with a publisher. This contract can extend to a local sub-publisher, who then also<br />
represents the creator(s). This relationship is represented in the records by all parties<br />
having the same value in this column. The value itself has no meaning (i.e. any number<br />
or letter may be used) but it is the use of the same value that ties the parties together.<br />
This in<strong>format</strong>ion can be very useful to a receiving society and should be provided is<br />
possible; otherwise, leave blank. If a value is assigned, there must be at least one other<br />
MIP record with the same contract indicator value for the MWN (transaction sequence).<br />
