Procedures for Evacuation:<br />

Activate the school “E-Team” and coordinators for assistance<br />

Take the emergency backpack/box and the ERCM manual with you<br />

Confirm the building was swept to ensure no person is inside<br />

Confirm presence <strong>of</strong> special needs students or staff at Evacuation<br />

Staging Areas<br />

Collect Attendance from teachers and identify missing children<br />

Use the Procedures for Accounting for Students<br />

Direct the Search and Accountability Team to assist<br />

Report missing children to the Police or Fire Incident Commander<br />

If Outside Assembly Locations are not safe:<br />

Inform District <strong>Office</strong> that you need assistance from Transportation<br />

Move children to an <strong>of</strong>f-campus evacuation location on your <strong>Emergency</strong><br />

Management Plan<br />

Implement procedures for reuniting students and parents if needed<br />

Important Details<br />

Building Re-entry:<br />

Consult with Facilities and the Fire Department to<br />

determine when it is safe to re-enter the building<br />

Reuniting students and parents:<br />

Refer to the Preparedness section <strong>of</strong> this manual for procedures to reunite<br />

students with parents. All students must be accounted for and signed out in<br />

the school’s binder, which has emergency contact information. Direct the<br />

Student-Parent Reunion coordinator to facilitate this task<br />

Directed evacuation:<br />

The fire alarm is not activated during a directed evacuation. The evacuation<br />

is ordered by announcement. Elevators remain functional<br />

NOTE: Make the megaphone announcement after the<br />

building evacuates<br />
