Role of Professionals in Present<br />
Industrial Scenario<br />
The Industry plays an important role for various students’ activities such as Internships,<br />
Graduation Projects, Design Collections, Exposure Visits and Placements, to name a few. The<br />
professionals from the industry play an important part in mentoring the talents of the students.<br />
To understand their role further, an event was held on 29th August 2012 at NIFT, Kolkata<br />
Auditorium and was jointly organized by the Kolkata centres of National Institute of Fashion<br />
Technology, <strong>Apparel</strong> <strong>Export</strong> <strong>Promotion</strong> <strong>Council</strong> and <strong>Apparel</strong> Training and Design Centre...<br />
The border topic on which the distinguished dignitaries<br />
including Industry Speakers deliberated upon was the Role of<br />
Professionals in present Industry Scenario. The objective of<br />
this Industry Meet was to deliberate on the various issue for the<br />
budding professional of NIFT and ATDC.<br />
The Role played by the Industry<br />
Representatives<br />
The industry representatives are fully equipped, with their<br />
experience and knowledge, to discuss the issues related to the<br />
industry expectation from the students who are ready to join and<br />
serve the industry. Such a mentorship can help the students prepare<br />
to meet the industry expectations. The students can understand the<br />
career growth chart. The faculty and officials of NIFT and ATDC<br />
who prepare the students to serve the industry, can also get the latest<br />
industry requirements from their students.<br />
The Event<br />
The event of Industry Meet – 2012 was inaugurated with<br />
lighting of the lamp by the distinguished dignitaries on the dais.<br />
Prof. B. Banerjee, Director, NIFT, Kolkata gave the welcome<br />
speech and explained the role and responsibility of NIFT Kolkata,<br />
to the gathering inclusive of the industry representatives. The<br />
distinguished dignitaries enlightened the participants on the broader<br />
theme of the Meet in the inaugural session; which was followed by<br />
the technical session where the eminent industry speakers gave their<br />
presentation on various topics. The final year student participants<br />
got a fair knowledge regarding the requirement of the Industry,<br />
Industry expectation from the budding professionals, various career<br />
avenues and career growth opportunities in the various sectors.<br />
There was also an open session for an interactive discussion amongst<br />
the industry representatives, student participants, dignitaries and the<br />
eminent speakers.<br />
