The number of online buyers in Germany has increased from 5 million to 32.5 million between 2000 and 2009. By 2010, 59% of all Germans had<br />

bought something on the Internet. 42% buy regularly on the Internet, 54% search online for suitable products. Germany has now passed the USA in<br />

e-commerce sales per capita per year. A company's website is today its most important advertising material and your company's flagship.<br />

This is even true today for small medium-sized businesses: tradesmen, trade companies, commerce or dealers.<br />

You should consider the following factors for your website:<br />

» Alignment and design of the homepage for your principal target group.<br />

» The central customer benefit (why should the customer decide in favour of you, your product or your service?) is the main topic.<br />

» Address the audience on the emotional level (language, design, images, films etc.).<br />

» Present the entrepreneur/enterprise plus the decision makers personally.<br />

» The products or services should be presented in words and images.<br />

» Give references where possible.<br />

» Current information with genuine value added (knowledge, details, tips, service etc.).<br />

» The information must be organised rationally; the most important and most useful information must be quickly and easily (intuitively) found.<br />

» It must be as simple as possible to make contact by various means.<br />

» The website should be found quickly through search engines and be actively marketed.<br />

» It must be possible to add new content at short notice.<br />
