Szilvia TÖRÖK, born in 1976 in Miercurea-Ciuc, România, graduated from<br />

the “Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy, where she studied both Pedagogy as well as<br />

Singing. Her Master’s education was provided by the Music Pedagogy Department of<br />

the Faculty of Reformed Theology within the Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca.<br />

She has taught music in several high-schools, as well as being a choir member of the<br />

Hungarian Opera in Cluj. She collaborated as a soloist with St. Michael’s Church in<br />

Cluj, as well as participated in Singing Master classes in Majk, Hungary in 2000, 2001,<br />

2002, and worked with Maria Theresa Uribe, Csengeri Adrienne, Ionel Pantea, Keönch<br />

Boldizsár, Gulyás Dénes. Török Szilvia has also participated in the International “Vox<br />

Artis” Singing Competition in Sibiu, Romania in 2011.<br />

Bianca ŢIPLEA TEMEŞ is Senior Ph.D. Lecturer of Music Theory at Gh.<br />

Dima Music Academy. She holds a degree in Piano and Musicology recognised by the<br />

Education Ministry in Madrid, an M.A. in Musicology granted by the Gh. Dima Music<br />

Academy, leading to a Ph.D. earned from the Music University in Bucharest, in 2002.<br />

She attended Aurel Stroe’s Master Class in Cluj (1995) and György Kurtág’s Master<br />

Class in Budapest (2005). As she also holds a degree in Business Management<br />

(M.B.A. granted by Babeş-Bolyai University), she combines her academic career with<br />

the post of Music Programme Manager of the Transylvania Philharmonic and with the<br />

position of temporary Supervisor at the Symphony Orchestra of the Principality of<br />

Asturias, Oviedo. Her books have been published in Romania, and her articles in<br />

leading Journals in Romania, Spain, Lithuania, Switzerland, Czech Republic, and the<br />

U.S.A. She participated in conferences in Romania (Bucharest, Cluj, Iaşi, Oradea),<br />

Germany (Oldenburg), Austria (Vienna), Lithuania (Vilnius), Ireland (Dublin), and Italy<br />

(Rome). Since 2010 she has been visiting professor at the University of Oviedo/Spain,<br />

in 2012 at Istituto Superior di Studi Musicali „P. Mascagni” Livorno, and was also<br />

awarded an Erasmus Grant at the University of Cambridge, U.K. (2010, 2011),<br />

studying with the renowned musicologists Nicholas Cook and Nicholas Marston. In<br />

2011/2012 she received a research grant from the Paul Sacher Foundation in<br />

Basel/Switzerland. As a consequence of her findings in the Ligeti collection in Basel,<br />

she recently obtained a DAAD Scholarship at “Humboldt” University in Berlin, her<br />

application being supported by Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Hermann Danuser.<br />
