alterations. The publication of some tunes was continued over several centuries,<br />

others were dropped by some of the hymnbook editors. Still the best tunes have<br />

been preserved in the oral tradition and their interpretation was enriched by<br />

specific ornamentations. Occasionally folks attached different lyrics to a specific<br />

tune changing thus the original function of the hymn.<br />
