Chestnuts Roasted with Perfection at the Willis Tower By Jennifer Radcliffe Illinois State Medical Society Single-digit temperatures didn’t stop over 400 industry professionals from attending the 2010 Meeting Professionals International Chicago Area Chapter Holiday Party at the Metropolitan Club on December 13. Partygoers took in breathtaking views of Chicago from the Willis Tower’s 66th floor, while enjoying seasonallyinspired cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. “The Metropolitan Club of Chicago was the perfect setting for a night of networking and celebration—we are pleased to have exceeded last year’s attendance. It’s great to know that we will be helping fellow chapter members by raising money for the Hinton Holiday fund. We could not have done this without the assistance of so many great sponsors,” said Committee Cochair Kelly Wood, the Flower Firm. complimentary membership and event attendance for MPI-CAC members with financial need. This year’s event was also able to support the Chicago Marines’ Toys for Tots program through the toy drop. A special thanks to all who contributed and brightened the holiday season for needy children in the Chicago area. For those brave souls who wanted to experience one of the Willis Tower’s most exhilarating attractions, elevator service to the 103rd floor Skydeck was offered during the party. Guests were able to step out on the four-foot glass ledge that sits over 1,300 feet high! Everyone loved the thrill of being atop the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. These activities offered magnificent prizes, such as restaurant gift certificates, hotel stays, electronics and more. All combined, the fundraisers raised over $12,000 and greatly contributed to the grand total of over $20,000, raised for the Hinton Holiday Fund.
