W. BLESSING<br />
Edward Blessing has changed his role from government in<br />
college to finances.<br />
Blessing graduated in 1960. He served as lower division<br />
representative and president of the student body, Blue<br />
Key, Young Repubhcans, Prelegal Society, and Pacific<br />
Student Presidents Association.<br />
Blessing is presently a stock broker and vice president of<br />
the SDS Alumni Association.<br />

JOHN<br />
D. BUTLER<br />
John Butler graduated from SDS in 1936 and went on to<br />
get his law degree from Stanford.<br />
He served as mayor of <strong>San</strong> Diegfrom 1951 to 1955 and<br />
presently has a private law practice.<br />
In 1948-49, Butler served <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> County as deputy<br />
district attorney.<br />
While in college he played football and was commissioner<br />
of finance.<br />
LESTER<br />
EARNEST<br />
Lester Earnest continued his interest in government after h<br />
graduated from SDS.<br />
He is presently the director of <strong>San</strong> Dieg~ ~ark and R creation<br />
Department and director of the MISSIO~Bay<br />
Development Project. He also served an DI go as budg t<br />
officer.<br />
While in college, Earnest was ~ornmissione~ of Finan ~d<br />
the first president of his fraterruty. The rOWl!lgteam, ~ n s<br />
quartet and being pr:sident of Alpha Mu igma mUSIC<br />
fraternity also kept him busy.<br />
JAMES R. MILLS<br />
James Mills has participated in state politics in the capacity<br />
of assemblyman for the 79th District. He has a master of<br />
arts degree from <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> <strong>State</strong>.<br />
While as ?l?S, Mills served as president of the History Club,<br />
Roger Williams Club, and Inter-Protestant Council.<br />
T~e history .of <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> has been an interest of Mills for<br />
quite some time, He spent many years as curator of the<br />
<strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> Serra Museum.<br />

Mills' special governmental interest is in the field of<br />
transportation and commerce. He has served on the <strong>State</strong>'s<br />
Ways and Means Committee.<br />

BREITBARD<br />
Robe~t Breitbard was active in sports at SDS and is still active in promoting local<br />
athletics.<br />
While ~t SDS, Breitbard played and lettered in varsity football. He served one term<br />
as president of the Aztec Lettermen's Club.<br />
Breitbard is president of the Breitbard Athletic Foundation vice president of the<br />
Greater <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> Sports Association, on the board of trustee; for the S. D. Hall of<br />
Champions, and the Chamber of Commerce Sports Committee.<br />
