Tailback KerI~Carson blazed his way into Aztec football<br />
history as he npped the Fresno <strong>State</strong> Bulldogs to shreds. He<br />
rac~d to t~1feetouchdowns on runs of 28, 88, and 48 yards<br />
while rolhng-up 236 yards on the ground. He also caught a<br />
nme~yardpass to give him 245 yards in total offense for the<br />
evenmg and two school records. The Aztecs held off a<br />
}~teBulldo&rall~ in.the fog to win 29-26 and bring the<br />
irst champIOnshipIII 11 years to Montezuma mesa.<br />
Carson Runs Over UOP 32-18<br />

32-18, to give <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> one of its biggest Homecoming<br />
wins in the history of the school.<br />
MCRD Topples <strong>State</strong> 34-6<br />
MCRD playing its best game in two years, closed <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong><br />
<strong>State</strong>'s football season the way it started by pounding the<br />
Aztecs 34-6, before the largest crowd of the season in<br />
Aztec Bowl.<br />
The Marines took a narrow 14-6 halftime lead and then<br />
scored 20 big points in the second half to turn bac~ the<br />
Aztecs for the first time in eight straight games. Playmg<br />
without the services of Kern Carson throughout most of the<br />
game SDS was unable to move against the Marines.<br />

Giving up an early first period touchdown the Aztecs<br />
rallied behind Carson to take a 20-6 half time lead. The<br />
Aztecs matched the Tigers' two second-half tallies and then<br />
played heads up football to take the big win.<br />
UOP, who was ranked 8th in the nation in major college<br />
.defense with 88 yards per game, gave up 326 yards to coach<br />
Coryell and his mighty offensive scoring machine.<br />
