Clearedge 880
Heavy Duty Soluble Oil
Description
Castrol Clearedge 880 is a heavy duty semi synthetic soluble oil which forms a highly stable transparent emulsion when
mixed with water. It is based on solvent refined mineral oil and contains chlorinated extreme pressure additives.
Clearedge 880 is formulated with innovative technology to provide long fluid life and emulsion stability. The combination of
biocide and unique boundary protection additives provide excellent resistance to bacteria and fungal growth, and improved
tool wear characteristics. This results in significant “cost in use” savings by reducing system recharges and make up rates.
Application
Clearedge 880 is formulated for use with a wide range of metal types including cast iron, brass, aluminium alloys and
hardened steels. It is suitable for a wide range of machining operations including grinding, milling, drilling, tapping, reaming
and broaching on both ferrous and non ferrous metals.
Advantages

Superior emulsion stability and bacterial resistance. Long coolant life. Ideal for both small stand alone and large
central systems.
Contains no nitrites or phenols. Operator and environment friendly. Good working environment, lower disposal costs.
Low foaming properties. Minimises foaming in high speed systems. Trouble free operation.
Multi metal applications. Versatile. Allows product rationalization.
Excellent detergent properties ensure machine tools remain clean and free metal fines grease build up.
Good corrosion protection. Machine and part protection. High quality output.
