RACE BLOCKS<br />
Designed and built for the serious Sprint Car and Dirt late model, this<br />
Mopar Performance “A” aluminum race block showcases the latest<br />
in technology. Knowing the racer’s concern for weight and overall<br />
strength, this block was engineered using finite element analysis<br />
to optimize the design for weight savings of over 25 lbs. from the<br />
previous version. The following features set the Mopar block ahead<br />
of the <strong>com</strong>petition:<br />
• 6-bolt head design for superior gasket sealing and reliability at<br />
higher <strong>com</strong>pression ratios (a 4-bolt head can be installed)<br />
• Full skirted “H” block design for the required strength and rigidity<br />
• Cross-bolted main caps for added strength and improved rigidity<br />
• Ductile iron dry cylinder liners<br />
• High-strength A1 studs, bolts, and attaching hardware<br />
• “A” engine high cam location for longer strokes and reduced windage<br />
• 50 mm roller bearing cam design for reduced friction<br />

RACE ROLLER UGL CAMSHAFTS<br />
The 48° tappet “R” blocks (R1, R2, R3, R4) and the 48° tappet aluminum<br />
blocks require special cams. These UGL (unground lobe) cams can be<br />
provided to grinders to enable them to grind their specific profiles to<br />
create a finished cam. Cannot be used in engine as is.<br />
