Fellowship Programme<br />
Sabbatical/Duty Leave Fellowship Programme is<br />
for the permanent faculty members (professors<br />
and associate professors) of public sector<br />
universities/ degree awarding institutions and<br />
approved for Government funded private sector<br />
universities and DAIs as well as for the employees<br />
of equivalent grade from R&D organizations.<br />
The objective of the programme is to<br />
advance the pursuit of research in the<br />
universities/R&D institutions by relieving the<br />
faculty members from their normal university<br />
duties and enable them to pursue their scholarly<br />
interests and enhance their professional growth<br />
so that they may present themselves with<br />
renewed vigour, perspective and insight at<br />
pedagogical and research forums. The target of<br />
the project is to facilitate 40 faculty members for<br />
foreign fellowship for a maximum period of six<br />
months or 80 faculty members for<br />
local fellowship for a maximum period of nine<br />
months over four years.<br />
So far, 27 faculty members have been<br />
awarded this fellowship, out of which 25 faculty<br />
members were awarded foreign fellowship while<br />
two members availed local fellowship. During the<br />
current year, a total number of 13 faculty<br />
members have been provided foreign<br />
fellowships.<br />
