A grant of up to $200,000 to be used for a pilot program to help small<br />

businesses expand in the Finger Lakes Region.<br />

* The <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> <strong>State</strong> Urban <strong>Development</strong> Corporation doing business as<br />

<strong>Empire</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Development</strong> (“ESD” or the “Corporation”)<br />

Various business locations to be determined in Genesee, Livingston,<br />

Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates<br />

Apply an innovative nationally recognized business expansion strategy<br />

known as “economic gardening” to 20 small businesses to be selected<br />

in the region.<br />

A program to identify and nurture business expansion opportunities.<br />

The Incentive Offer was accepted in April <strong>2012</strong>. The project is listed as a<br />

Priority Project in the Finger Lakes Regional Economic <strong>Development</strong> Plan<br />

under Section V, Regional Implementation, based on its potential to<br />

create private sector jobs. GRE is represented on the Regional Council.
