INSTALL ATION
Taking delivery of the stove
Please check carefully that the stove is in perfect condition. Make sure that it has not been
damaged in transit. Pay particular attention to the glass door and the fireclay bricks inside.
Should you discover any damage, please inform your supplier at once. Do not light a fire
in the stove.
Damage sustained by the glass door and the fireclay bricks after the stove has been
used is almost always caused by overheating or incorrect operation. In such cases, the
manufacturer‘s guarantee will not apply and we will not be liable for any damage.
CORRECT LOCATION
n When choosing the location for your stove, make sure that it can be connected easily to
the chimney in your house. Before installing the stove make sure you are aware of all the
applicable national and local building regulations.
n DROOFF stoves are normally delivered with an interchangeable connecting sleeve which
makes it possible to fit the stovepipe both from the rear and from above (see data sheet
"Technical Information"). As a rule, your stove will be prepared for connection from the
top. However, if you prefer a different connection, replace the connecting sleeve with the
sealing lid. It is extremely important that the opening which is not in use is firmly sealed
with the lid.
n The floor under the stove must be flat and level. Before installing the stove, make sure that
the floor is able to bear the weight.
n The floor under the stove must be resistant to heat and non-combustible (e.g. tiles or
special floor plate). This non-combustible area must extend at least 50 cm in front of the
stove and at least 30 cm to the side, measured from the front of the door.
n The stove and the connecting pipe must be at a certain distance from combustible
materials at the back and at the sides. They must also have a certain clearance from steelreinforced
concrete walls. For the necessary safety clearances for your stove, please refer
to the data sheet "Technical Information" or the plate attached to the back of the stove. For
the necessary safety clearances for the connecting pipe, please refer to the data supplied
by the pipe manufacturer.
n Always ensure that no combustible objects or objects sensitive to heat are placed close
to the glass door. See data sheet "Technical Information" for adequate clearances.
