How can civil society assist in improving governance?<br />
• Civil society’s knowledge about governance needs to be improved.<br />
• Hold public hearings,<br />
• Roads Fund Boards finance training of civil societies and have a feedback mechanism for<br />
receiving comp<strong>la</strong>ints from the public.<br />
• Involvement of public be provi<strong>de</strong>d in legis<strong>la</strong>tions.<br />
• Publish information in media e.g. Kenya Roads Board publishes road programmes in six<br />
newspapers.<br />
• Invite media to stakehol<strong>de</strong>r meetings and hold press conferences.<br />
What should gTKP focus on in the next 2 years?<br />
• Share experiences among the countries.<br />
• Address Road Safety matters and issues.<br />
• Educate people on the Role of Transport since effective transportation is the catalyst for<br />
the economic <strong>de</strong>velopment.<br />
