The Vario jet is the ideal
recyclable sandblaster for

Details
The dust extraction system
The suction channel technology
is a particular advantage.
They are constructed so that
only the unusable fine dust
particles are being extracted.
This saves up to 50% of the
blasting material.
The blasting nozzle
The distance between the
blasting nozzle and the
basket can be adjusted to one
of three positions. The nozzle
is made from boron carbide
and is extremely resistant. The
nozzle can be exchanged easily
without any special tools.
The blasting basket
Save valuable time. The large
blasting basket allows up to
7 framework castings to be
blasted simultaneously. Normally
full automatic sandblasting
of a casting requires only
10 minutes. A rubber sleeve
prevents clasps getting caught
during rotation.
For more space during manual
function the basket can be
easily removed.

The control functions
The control elements are easy
to view and easy to clean. The
touchcontrol pad is hermetically
sealed.
In the automatic mode, the
blasting time can be adjusted
between 1 and 60 min. The
current time setting is shown
on an LED display. The Start,
Hold, and Stop functions can
be used to control the Vario
jet in the automatic mode.

Recyclable sandblaster and microblaster in one
In many laboratories both
precious metal and CrCo are
regularly sandblasted. It is often
not economical, however,
for small or medium-sized
laboratories to invest in two
units – one for fine and one
for rough sandblasting. The
amount of usage would not
warrant the expenditure. As
each technique has its own
particular advantages, many
laboratories would like to be
able to use both techniques.
Renfert has succeeded in
combining the best of both
worlds in the Vario basic,
which can be used for all routine
sandblasting in the dental

Correct sandblasting
technique
Nozzle design
The diameters of the sandblasting
nozzles vary from
0.4 to 2 mm and this allows
the amount of abrasive
agent to be regulated. The
nozzle size also determines
the angle of dispersion of
the abrasive agent. The
smaller the nozzle, the more
sandblasting is focused on
one point, and the larger the
nozzle, the larger the surface
covered. Renfert wide-slotted
nozzles produce special fanshaped
jets and are ideal for
sandblasting larger surfaces.
A sandblaster with different
abrasive agent tanks and
nozzles (e.g. Basic quattro) is
the best option for ensuring
consistent and optimum sandblasting
results.
Nozzle distance and angle
The distance between the
nozzle and the casting is
crucial. The closer the nozzle
is to the casting, the greater
the pressure of impact, and the
further the nozzle is from the
casting, the weaker the effect.
To attain consistent results,
the nozzle distance should
not be altered. If material is to
be removed during sandblasting,
it is important to hold

the sandblasting nozzle at an
obtuse angle to the casting.
This prevents excessive pressure
on one point or sandblasting
through the casting, e.g. at
thin areas of the framework.
Uniform flow of abrasive
agent
A uniform (homogeneous)
flow of abrasive agent is required
irrespective of the level
of abrasive agent in the tank:
this is very important in preventing
a reduction in quality
or loss of time (e.g. through
cracks in the porcelain due to
different degrees of shrinkage).
