education pr<strong>of</strong>essor Thomas Hunt argued that<br />

education, like religion, must be a matter <strong>of</strong> freedom and<br />

conscience. “Americans would revolt if <strong>the</strong> government<br />

forced <strong>the</strong>m to join a state-established church. ... Yet<br />

when some parents choose not to submit <strong>the</strong>ir children<br />

J. Lasley II spoke to <strong>the</strong> Akron Beacon Journal about<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Dayton</strong> Early College Academy, a charter school<br />

operated by <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong>, and its experience in early<br />
