Mrs Paulene Hocking
Technical Trainer

Paulene was appointed to her current position of Training Officer in May 2004. She has joint
responsibility to design, develop and deliver training to new recruits and international students.
Paulene co presented training courses abroad to help improve and enhance learning capacity
within other organisations. Paulene’s area of work, as a compiler, was in South East Asia
including responsibilities for Singapore. She has experience in both traditional compilation
and digital being involved early on in the digital system still used today. In the Defence Area,
Paulene worked on developing a totally digital product for the Naval Merlin Helicopter.
Paulene has undertaken various courses at the local college and is currently studying for the
Certificate in Training Practice (CIPD).

Mr Martin Storrar
Technical Trainer
United Kingdom Hydrographic Office
Martin joined the Training Team in 2003 and is jointly responsible for the design and delivery
of training to new recruits and International students. Martin has over thirty years of experience
joining UKHO in 1976. His career in cartography ranged from responsiblilty for the depiction
of all National and International cables on Admiralty charts, managing the Hydrographic Data
Centre and the Chart Correction Office.
He has an ONC in Surveying and Cartography and is currently studying for the CIPD Certificate
in Training Practice.
