Monday Morning Briefing. Where are they now- Clayton Pinkos. Now here is a
well known fellow in the US heat treating industry, Clayton Pinkos who has worked
on both the captive and commercial side of things-most recently at auto parts
supplier and captive heat treater GKN Driveline in Mebane, NC. Clayton has
moved on and is now running the heat treating department at Baldor Electric in
Tennessee. Jim McNeal Managing Recruiter of International Search Partners, an
Executive Search firm based in La Mesa, Ca. which concentrates on the heat
suffered a reasonably serious fire in their heat treating department. The plant is
located at 500 Oak Tree Drive in Selma and while we don't know all the details
some of the equipment will certainly have to be replaced. Commercial heat treater
receiving their brand new TAV 10 bar vacuum furnace (more about this plant later
this week). RUBIG GmbH & Co. KG in Wels, Austria who is possibly the largest
supplier of Plasma Nitriding systems around recently landed an order from a UK
company for a new Plasma unit.
Dave Stanton another well known fellow in the US heat treating industry recently
left captive heat treater Rexnord for commercial heat treater IBC Coating
Technologies Inc., in Lebanon, Indiana. IBC Coating is a medium sized
commercial shop which offers top end processing such as vacuum carburizing, PVD
Coatings, Plasma Nitriding and Vacuum heat treating to name a few. And to round
things out we see that Wisconsin Oven had a record breaking 2012 and in
consequence is opening a new facility. The abbreviated announcement is below and
the full press release can be found at http://news.mywalworthcounty.com/?p=3745
"Wisconsin Oven Corporation, which has long been known as one of East Troy’s
biggest and most revered companies, will soon be expanding its brand in the Dairy
State. On the heels of a recent sale to PLC Group of France in April, Wisconsin Oven
announced plans last week to open another plant in Waukesha, adding about 20
new jobs. Dave Strand, President and CEO of Wisconsin Oven Corporation, said the
move is a result of record sales for the company in 2012. “We have a need for
immediate space due to backlog and what East Troy had available wasn’t going to
meet our needs,” Strand said. Wisconsin Oven will open up shop in an existing
30,000-square-foot facility on Pewaukee Road in about two weeks". March 11/2013
