This rare hybrid is o<strong>the</strong>rwise only known from localities in Dorset, Hampshire and Norfolk. It is<br />

normally sterile and does not produce turions; as such, it is dependent on its vigorous<br />

rhizomes for its long-term persistence at a site (Preston, 1995).<br />
