Widely but locally distributed on a range <strong>of</strong> different trees but particularly Tilia, Malus and<br />
Populus. It seems to be particularly frequent in villages along <strong>the</strong> River Great Ouse from<br />
Hemingford Grey eastwards.<br />

This poorly known species is an early flowering spring annual. It grows in dry, open and very<br />
bare, <strong>of</strong>ten rubbly, places with a calcareous influence (Stewart et al. 1994). At Kimbolton<br />
Airfield it grows on thin soil that has developed over old concrete structures.<br />
