Changing your mind about your room after signing <strong>the</strong> contract?<br />
As you are not able to view <strong>the</strong> room be<strong>for</strong>e signing your contract you have <strong>the</strong><br />
possibility to decline your room within three days after <strong>the</strong> starting date <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
contract, without any cost. Any cancellation request has to be noted on <strong>the</strong><br />
contract and signed by <strong>the</strong> IHO and <strong>the</strong> tenant within <strong>the</strong> stated three days. Any<br />
prepaid rent will <strong>the</strong>n be refunded.<br />
Can I change my room <strong>for</strong> ano<strong>the</strong>r one?<br />
Un<strong>for</strong>tunately <strong>the</strong> IHO cannot make any room changes. If you are unhappy with<br />
your room you can <strong>of</strong> course cancel your housing contract, but please note that<br />
we will not be able to <strong>of</strong>fer you an alternative. More in<strong>for</strong>mation about cancelling<br />
your housing contract can be found below.<br />
Am I allowed to share a single room with a friend or partner?<br />
Single rooms are <strong>for</strong> one person only. You are not permitted to share with<br />
anyone in single rooms. The housing contract you sign is <strong>for</strong> you and <strong>for</strong> you<br />
alone. Un<strong>for</strong>tunately, we cannot <strong>of</strong>fer family accommodation.<br />
Can I sub-let my room/apartment?<br />
No. The housing contract you sign is <strong>for</strong> you and <strong>for</strong> you alone.<br />
Once we discover that someone else is living in your room we will terminate your<br />
housing contract.<br />
Can I extend my contract?<br />
If you wish to stay longer than <strong>the</strong> agreed initial period, an extension may be<br />
granted by <strong>the</strong> IHO <strong>for</strong> additional periods, maximum until <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
academic year (beginning <strong>of</strong> June) with an extra extension <strong>for</strong> summer until <strong>the</strong><br />
middle <strong>of</strong> July. The <strong>University</strong> apartments are intended <strong>for</strong> international students<br />
who study at <strong>the</strong> university during a limited time.<br />
Please note that tuition fee paying students have <strong>the</strong> possibility to keep <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
accommodation <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir full period <strong>of</strong> study.<br />
For non fee paying students staying longer than one year<br />
Do not <strong>for</strong>get to immediately sign up <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> queuing system <strong>of</strong>fered by o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
accommodation providers. Independent <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> start <strong>of</strong> your contract, all contracts<br />
within <strong>International</strong> housing <strong>of</strong>fice will end ei<strong>the</strong>r in June or in July. There is no<br />
possibility to extend your contract fur<strong>the</strong>r.<br />
